I enjoyed my dinner here very much. I sat on the patio and had the scallops. They were amazing! The service was excellent. I would return! Make sure you have a reservation, they are packed on the weekends!

Food is fantastic! The service is wonderful and a truly great date place. Friendly service and top notch. The wine list is really good as are their craft beers. The tuna tartar is delicious and a must get. The burrata appetizer is wonderful and filling. I shared it this time. We got the bread service and was worth it. Steaks are ok but the fish is what you get when you come here. The patio on cooler nights is a must. The bar fills up fast, so after 7:00 you might not get a spot. They have half price appetizers on Monday night if you purchase an entrè. Will come back again and again when I'm in town.

Holy moly, holy moly. What an awesome night at Jax Beach. It was Friday night and a group of us decided to come here on a whim. Another fine dining experience. This place is located on Eleven Avenue South, hence the name. It can be really easy to miss as it's not visible from A1A and behind a Veterinarian's office. They offer complementary valet but I'm not a big fan of having some stranger park my car, so I parked on the street in a designated spot and walked over. The outside doesn't compare to the inside at all. The place was full of people but thankfully we had reservations for a table near the kitchen in a gorgeous booth...with pillows! I felt like I was in a desert oasis. The table setting was exquisite with fresh yellow lilies and a candle. A friend and I got martinis called the Sunrise: Ketel One Citroen Vodka, Peach schnapps, champagne, pineapple juice, orange juice and grenadine. How awesome does that sound? Tastes great. While deciding over the menu, we were offered bread service with butter. The bread was freshly baked and the butter tasted freshly churned hahaha. We all detected some kinda of herbs mixed in with the butter that gave it an extra boost. There were 4 of us dining so we decided to get a bunch of apps, a couple of entrees, and a couple of desserts to split amongst us and our server Johnny (who was amazing) was cool with that. We first started off with the Mixed Cheese Plate that had Manchego and d'Affinois Double Creme aka Brie but the plate also had grapes, local honey, apples, crostinis, and lavash crisps. Everyone drooled over the honey. That must've been the purest tasting honey I've ever tried. Both cheeses were excellent quality. Next we ordered the rest of our apps and entrees consisting of Lobster Mac N Cheese, Grilled Octopus, Seafood Paella, and the Specials of the day of 4 Stone Crab Claws and the Wagyu Steak. I know, a lot of food but we had a feeling that it was going to be pretty epic. The lobster mac n cheese was phenomenal. I've never tasted anything like it. It was so rice and creamy with other herbs and spices. The grilled octopus was like high-quality calamari. The sauce on it was similar to a pesto with basil and cilantro in it and that was delicious. The seafood paella was bomb. The chorizo and shrimp were so flavorful with each bite. I could have eaten that all by myself. As for the specials, we each got a stone crab claw which tasted just like it came out of the sea. Excellent. The entree of the steak I think was the winning entree of the night. Dang that was the best steak I've ever had as it just melts in your mouth. It was also served with roasted potatoes and dried blueberries. Who does that? For dessert, we again split the Triple Chocolate Pot de Creme and the Coffee and Doughnuts. The Pot De Creme had copious amounts of chocolate and served with a biscotti. We all agreed it was good. The Doughnuts are more like mini beignets but also awesome. The espresso panna cotta really stood out in this dish. I love coffee. There were also little espresso chocolate balls *heeheehee* on top of the panna cotta. Our server told us about the patio parties that they have once a month so I may need to check them out. All in all, this place is a must try for everyone.

Never a bad meal, the chef knows what he is doing, English Patient martini was superb, we love this place, we go most every time we're at the beach.

Plan to valet here. Parking is really limited. We had a nice private room for a work event which was comfortable and cozy. I really enjoyed their french onion soup and Duck Breast entree. The flavor was great and it included some delicious roasted bok choy. We topped it off with some "coffee and doughnuts". This desert included beignets and chocolate covered roasted coffee beans. We all enjoyed this desesert to top off our dinner.

Heading down to Jacksonville to see a friend of mine and to celebrate his birthday, I figured I'd find a place that served seafood and provided a touch of elegance. Eleven South very much encompassed that. My friend and I started out with the tuna and avocado tartare, the jumbo lump crab cakes, the crispy oysters, and the classic escargot. My favorites were the jumbo lump crab cakes and the tuna and avocado tartare. The jumbo lump crab cakes had large lumps of delicious crab meat that had great flavor and went very well with the arugula salad and the citrusy sauce that came with it. The tartare was better than most basic tuna tartare, the large cubes of tuna and the creamy aoli with the avocado made for a great dish. The crispy oysters were good but the marmalade was too sweet. It was the first time I'd ever had the escargot. The texture wasn't too bad, but the tarragon overpowered the dish and the parmesano reggiano was almost non existent. My friend and I both went with the grilled faroe island salmon. The fish was cooked perfectly and was quite delicious. The sauteed kale was tender and went well with the salmon, gigante beans and roasted roma emulsion. The lemon ricotta tartlet seemed a bit out of place and didn't necessarily go with everything else on the plate, but it was good. Overall I was very pleased with my first meal while down in Jacksonville. I'm not much into the white linen table cloth atmosphere and some of the menu was more of the "usual" crowd pleasers that lack some creativity, but other items were inventive and quite good.

This place is a 3 fork establishment, but not overly hoity toidy. They did have the football game on in the bar area. Our server Regina was outstanding, very attentive to every detail. The meal was amazing, we ordered strictly from the featured specials. Starting with the oysters Rockefeller, what a perfect bite of yumminess! I ordered the hog snapper over a bed of pesto tossed pasta with grape tomatoes and broccolini. This dish was a flavor explosion. Honey had the steak of course, it was cooked to perfection (thank you chef Lee Weeks) over Parmesan potato gnocchi with oyster mushrooms. Bread pudding and chocolate pots de creame (mousse). We are rolling our fat behinds home tonight!

I appreciate this place because it has good meals and drinks. It is consistently good. I like their chicken and goat cheese entry very much. Their menu has changed in years. Perhaps, it is time to refresh with some new items. Again the chef is talented and they could do more. The outside dining is a plus.

The service and the food here is top notch. Local Jacksonville with fresh food. This is a place to go for a nice date night or a special occasion. They have outdoor seating as well. The staff is attentive and you will have a extra culinary experience. They have a bar where you can get drinks or enjoy happy hour. Parking is limited but this place is a must try if you are in Jacksonville Beach. I personally think it's such a great place for a date night. The drinks and wine selection is extensive.

Took my wife here for her birthday....found large and small glass chips her salad after she took about two bites, thank god she did not swallow any!! Told the waiter, he took her salad, did not apologize or replace it and we still had to pay for it....not how I imagine a place of business handling an issue such as this. Food was good, but pricey, but to be fair, we knew what we were getting into price wise before we went. We will not be going back by how they handled serving my wife a highly dangerous salad without even apologizing. Very poor customer service.

This restaurant has wonderful ambiance and great servers however the food was nothing special. I ordered medium steak and it was blood red rare, potato stuffed with lobster was very small and cheesecake was "ok". For the money , I expected far better food however if you are more concerned about having a great environment for a nice dinner with friends, this could be your spot. Just be ready to pay a lot and be hungry after. They have wonderful valet parking which solves the beach clutter parking problem.

Eleven South is a jewel amongst a sea of mediocrity in Jacksonville Beach. The ambience and service here were wonderful. My fried oyster appetizer had some Lagasse-like kick. I had the surf n turf with the ribeye, and an Australian lobster tail for a bargain price. The steak was like my mom used to make with a perfectly seared outer coating. The lobster tail was small, but a real bargain. Eleven South also had some wonderful sides--creamed spinach, whipped potatoes, and asparagus. A wonderful dessert--chocolate cake topped off a great Florida meal. Do not miss Eleven South when you are in Jax!

Really nice little neighborhood restaurant at the beach. tonight was our 2nd time here. I was very pleased with the menu, the service and overall dining experience. Very nice ambience, great bar venue if you just want to go for a drink or happy hour. Full menu with everything from seafood, steaks, pasta and chicken. Excellent wine menu, full bar and a plentiful variety of great specials and appetizers. James and the entire staff are there to ensure an excellent experience I really recommend 11 South to anyone looking for a great meal and excellent service.
While the appetizers were fairly decent, the snapper I had for dinner was hands down the worst I have ever had in a restaurant. Well over cooked and not a big portion... For 30 dollars.

Eleven South is my family's first choice for a special occasion. Unassuming from the outside (I think it used to be an old house), the inside has a great ambiance and the porch is great for outdoor seating any time of year. In the winter they enclose it and use the heaters. The service here is always top notch. All of the staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. My favorite dishes here are the fish dishes. I believe that is where Eleven South really shines. The grouper and scallop dishes are wonderful, BUT, make sure you listen to the specials from your server. They always have some innovative dish. Usually, I'll order the special if it is a grouper or flounder. Before dinner, start with a cheese plate. Order an assortment of 3 cheeses and definitely order the honeycomb. The menu is pretty pricy, so we only go for special occasions, but it is totally worth it.

A coworker recommended this place. We loved the atmosphere. The service was great all of the staff offered superior service. When the food arrived it was visually appealing. I ordered the ribeye that was cooked to perfection. My wife ordered a hog snapper special. It was delicious. phenomenal flavor profile. All 3 courses were great. This is a gem of a restaurant. I'd definitely eat here again.

This is one of our favorite restaurants in all of Jacksonville. We've gone a handful of times for dinner, and several times to sit in the bar area for appetizers and drinks. Both ways are great ways to enjoy this place. If you go, you MUST get the Crab Caprese Napoleon appetizer. Stacks of tomato and panko-crusted mozzerella topped with lump crab and multiple delicious sauces - one of the best appetizers I've ever tasted. Their sliders (bar area only) are amazing. Their entrees are also great, and the specials are always so interesting. Definitely a must-try in Jax Beach.

The Fried Green Tomato BLT is the best BLT I've ever had. It's a must when you stop in for lunch. The service is always exceptional, as expected. I wouldn't say Eleven South is a best kept secret... but it should be, cause sometimes you just want to keep something this good to yourself for a while.
Eleven South's ambiance and customer service was perfect for a night out with friends. Our waiter made first account recommendations from the menu and the daily specials, with a hint of comedic flair. We chose the Grouper and we were not disappointed. The entree was exceptionally prepared and offered healthy portions. Although the steak on the menu is probably fantastic (unlike previous blogger Kevin O), this restaurant is 1 block from the Atlantic Ocean so the market catch will probably always be a great choice. Strongly recommend!

We dined here with another couple who are regulars and live nearby. once they selected the restaurant, I began to read the yelp reviews and I got my expectations up for a great meal. This is a solid quality restaurant, but both my wife and I never felt wowed by anything. Not by the service, food quality, quantity, physical environment, and certainly not the prices. Thus the three star rating. We were seated at a booth in the restaurant next to a service area and next to the door to their outside patio. The servers left that door open repeatedly, to bus the empty area despite our repeated and frequent requests that they close it as it was cold and a draft through the patio was disturbing all four of us throughout dinner. Cup of soup for $8 was thick and hearty but only warm, not hot. Spinach salad also $8 was decent. New Zealand lamb chops @$28 were flavorful but size of the chops gave me 3 bites each and I was looking for more. Grouper special @$29 looked good. The goat cheese salads with grilled shrimp or Grilled salmon @$16 was the best value but could have used more greens. House special chocolate caramel bread pudding was properly priced @$7 and portion was large enough for two to share was tasty but mildly warm.....would have been much better if hotter. A bottle of wine $84 and two glasses of wine $11 (though only ordered one) brought the total to $240 plus tax. All in all a good solid dinner but not a place I'd seek out to return for fine dining.

One of the best restaurants in Jacksonville. I've had the Caesar salad, lobster mac+cheese, Catch of the day with cremini mushrooms and seasonal vegetables. I especially enjoyed their wine tastings on the patio paired with Horderves. Looking forward to returning soon.

Our first time here and we used a Group On. I mention this because occasionally you will run into a place that treats you differently with Group on even though they sold them. We had Michael as a Server, HE WAS AWESOME! WE had Dinner IT WAS AWESOME! WE Had Dessert IT WAS AWESOME! Michael came to us and said "We are known for Bad service and Good Food" He could not have been more wrong. The Service was excellent and the food was even better. I recommend this place and it is up there with the best places in town. The only downside was parking it appears it can be Challenging. Arrive early! Bon Appetit!

Managed to grab reservations for 5 people on New Years Eve. What a coup! This was our first time eating there but after the exceptional service, great food and decent layout I'll definitely be returning. Due to tight parking Valet was provided for free which allowed a tiny bit of stress to be relieved on the last day of the year. The host station was functioning at a very high level and our hostess (I believe her name was Ryan) greeted us warmly and made sure we were seated promptly. We ended up having 4 courses plus alcohol and the items that stuck out to me was the goat cheese salad along with the lobster mac and cheese. One of the more impressive parts of the night was that the waiter, Michael, managed to finagle a child's pasta dish for my son out of the kitchen on such a busy evening and without a kid's menu in site. This particular young man had one of the better table presence's I've seen in the restaurant business in some time. The lone complaint by anyone at our table is that the Creme Brulee was under cooked, however in my view that was such a minor issue that I wouldn't have even commented on it. Is it for every day dining? No, the menu is powerful and the price's are not for every budget , but for those looking for an exquisite dining experience in the Ponte Vedra/Jax Beach area need look no further than Eleven South
A wonderful experience with my boyfriend and his family over the Thanksgiving weekend. The food here is nothing short of excellent, as is the service. I ordered the wreck fish accompanied by butternut squash ravioli and broccoli. Just perfect!

We had such an amazing meal and great service, I had to write a review. Our server, Gena, was very attentive. We started with the smoked salmon bruschetta appetizer that was delicious. We then split the goat cheese and strawberry salad. I had the goat cheese chicken saltimbocca and my hubby had the oscar crusted veal chop. I wish I had known the portions were so generous...after the salad and appetizers, I was pretty full. But, everything was perfect. The signature martinis were amazing and pretty strong! I took half my meal home and just had it for lunch...it was still delicious! I cannot wait to go back for wine and lobster mac and cheese.

Can't say enough good things about this place. So classy and the food was absolutely wonderful (with one exception: Caesar salad should not be three single pieces of romaine lettuce, literally; that's just STUPID). I loved the outdoor seating! Would definitely go back. Here's what I ate (big group of people so I got to sample a lot): 1) Steak Tartare -- amazing, and so flavorful with the capers. 2) Pot Stickers -- not my thing, very "over cooked" 3) Crispy Oysters -- seriously delicious. Never had oytsers like this. They were dusted in breadcrumbs and crisped. Really good! 4) Spinach salad -- the brie crouton was such a good twist! 5) Special Flounder: SO FRESH! I have never in my life had flounder prepared so well 6) Creme brulee & espresso panna cotta with cinnamon sugar doughnuts -- the desserts are so delicious and the presentation was great. Absolutely love this place! Also thought it was really sweet how they gave my boyfriend a complimentary glass of champagne since it was his birthday. Cute touch! Can't wait to go back!

OH. MY. WORD. I only have two words: Just go. BUT! I'll use more words and tell you how much I loved it! My boyfriend and I went for a dinner and wine date night and we got a lot more than we expected. Our server, Jeremy was so on point. Incredibly informative and educated about all the dishes on the menu; where everything is grown, how it's made, what it pairs with. The manager, James, genuinely cares about his customers has got his ship running smoothly. Gorgeous cheese menu, and an even more mouthwatering wine list (my fav!)! Take a look at the pictures I posted of our appetizers and entrees. Whether it's a pop up date night with your man or you want your mom to take you somewhere awesome since she offered to pay, definitely go soon and ask for Jeremy. You certainly won't be disappointed! *Pinky Promise*

Dining with friends at Eleven South was thoroughly enjoyable. We started with a 4 cheese selection accompanied by honey comb, apple slices, and strawberry Balsamic jam. Each of the cheeses was a touch small but we all enjoyed a hearty taste of each selection. The bread basket was standard fare with whipped butter. My wife had the lobster mac and cheese which was good but a touch heavy on the truffle oil. The couple dining with us each had filet mignons which were cooked to perfection over mesquite wood and accompanied by truffled pomme frites and asparagus. I went with the black grouper prepped with the scallop menu sides: bacon risotto, arugula salad and carrots. The grouper was cooked perfectly. The wedge salad preceding my entree was good just a little light in iceberg though the blue cheese dressing was chunky and creamy enough.

We had a pretty decent dinner at Eleven South a few nights ago. We made an 8 PM reservation to beat the dinner rush. The restaurant was not packed, but still pretty busy. The service was pretty good. Throughout the evening, our water glasses were always topped off and our server asked how we were doing. The food was not as impressive as I had hoped. The scallop appetizer was my favorite. The scallops were slightly over-seared so that the edges were a little burnt, but otherwise, were delicious and fresh. The creamy salmon soup was a bit bland. My husband's steak was cooked a nice medium rare as he had ordered. I wasn't a fan of my entree, which was the ahi tuna dish. It was bland and the crust had a strange dill taste. Having said that, it's a solid 'nice' restaurant, good for an intimate dinner date event. I am not quite a 'fan', but I think it's more than A-OK.

Second time eating there and it was fantastic. I got the ribeye and it was one of the best steaks I've ever had- better than Ruth's. Pimento cheese grits were to die for. Wonderful service- friendly, professional, helpful, but not pushy or rushed. Fantastic spot. No wonder it was packed on a Thursday at 6pm!

My wife and I decided to go back to Eleven South for our anniversary, as we had an enjoyable meal the first time we went, albeit with fairly slow service. This time, my wife and I arrived and were seated immediately, a very good improvement from our wait the first time, even though we did have a reservation. The manager seated us with menus and a wine list and told us to enjoy our dinner. We were planning to. Both of us were anticipating a great meal. We looked over the menus and talked about what looked good, what we should get, and I decided on a bottle of wine. We continued to talk as the waitstaff helped the adjacent tables, and water glasses were filled at all the tables around us. I started to look at my watch when my wife said "20 minutes!" I looked at my watch shocked that she was right. Twenty minutes, no one had approached our table with even a fill of our water glasses. At that point she mentioned a chain restaurant that does Hawaiian fusion and seafood. I used an app on my phone, made a quick reservation, and we walked out of Eleven South very disappointed. I will say that the manager came to the parking lot and offered to buy us dinner and champagne, but at that point it was just too little, too late.

We had great expectations for this restaurant because of the high star rating, but we had a two star experience. The soups and salad were very good and the desserts were great. Unfortunately, the main courses were disappointing. My Lane Snapper was tasty, but the chef was very heavy-handed with the black pepper and it was ruined for me. My husband's rib eye steak was flavorless. Our friend's duck (the one with blueberry on the menu, not the special) was tough and her husband's lamb was not very flavorful. The service was good and personal.

Went here to celebrate a special occasion with my boyfriend. The atmosphere is upscale without being too stuffy. It's not the most romantic place (especially with all the older businessmen), but I highly recommend it for any special occasion for a couple or small group. Our server, I think was new. He was very friendly and kept peeking at his cheat sheet while comprehensively listing the specials. It was kind of adorable. And bravo to the unnamed service staff who floated around the floor. He swapped my white napkin for a black one to match my dark dress. He brought us warm white bread and never left my boyfriend's water glass even half empty (which is not an easy feat!). We had lobster mac and cheese for appetizer. I ordered it because I vaguely remembered someone on Yelp raving about it. It was alright.. a little too watery. For entrees we had veal chops and ahi tuna oscar. They were both delicious! Veal chops were so tender and juicy. Props to the bartender for making strooong cocktails. The complimentary champagne (for our special occasion) was a nice touch. No complaints about parking since the valet is complimentary. We had a great time there and would return. It's the best restaurant I've been to in Jacksonville. A side note about special occasions: make sure to call ahead, tell the host when you arrive, AND tell the waiter... if you want them to acknowledge it by giving you a better table and complimentary champagne, that is.

This is a destination restaurant. Not quite worth flying to Jacksonville to visit, but if I'm ever again in Jacksonville I will build my schedule around dining here. The decor is formal, with large fresh flower bouquets. Very classy. Nora Jones and Frank Sinatra soft background music. Packed on a Monday night - that tells you a lot, with a very varied clientele. Nice wine list. Interesting European whites but only one crappy Aussie. They're not much into New World wines, but the rest had a nice variety. I started with the crab cakes with black truffle vinaigrette. It was light on the truffle (thank goodness), with great flavors and ingredients. This is a brave chef. The lemon buerre blanc came through. great balance. Nice bread, although I would have enjoyed it when earlier, rather than 45 min after I was seated and only after I asked for it. For my main, I had the corn meal crusted local flounder rock shrimp with black beans, green herb rice, plantain chips, and mango buerre blanc. Again, a brazen chef who knows how to put these flavors together. Hardly a taste of the corn meal, and it all balanced perfectly, with character, a bit of spice, and lots of boldness. Delicious, and a great properly-cooked fish too. To add to the evening, a first ever - my waiter during my appetizer asked "would you like French style service with an intermission between courses!?. YES! To top it off, they had a great cheese list. Not extensive, but good choices. I had a terrific fresh French goat cheese, the worst ever whimpy manchego, and a fabulous Gouda - Reypenaer Gouda - I'll be looking for that one in the stores. They accommodated my desire for warm, not cold, cheeses, by cutting my cheeses and placing them on the table before the meal started, so when I got to them they had lost their refrigerator chill. My last comment: If you can't get Jeremy as your waiter, change to a different night.

Amazing! We had bought a groupon and used it on a Friday night. They have complimentary valet which was great. We sat on the patio which was not too hot, surprisingly. We had a great server, knowledgable about the menu. We had the scallop dish with a pea risotto which was excellent, the scallops were delicious! My husband had the veal, which he had never had before. We asked for medium rare but I think it came out medium well done. It was good but overrated. For desert we had the Guinness brownie/baileys ice cream/Jameson caramel desert which was awesome! Our friends had the orange cheesecake which was also delicious. Overall a great experience. It was a little loud on the inside near the bar, not sure if that's normal or not. I was glad we had the outdoor seating because it was quieter.

We had a wonderful dinner last night. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Courses were perfectly paced. Food was delicious. We started with oysters and escargot for appetizers (bonus: all apps are 1/2 price on Monday nights when ordered with entrees), followed by wedge salads, and then rainbow trout (one of the evening's specials) and salmon with spanakopita. Everything was exquisitely fresh, beautifully prepared and elegantly presented. As neither of us wished for dessert, we finished with delightfully rich and earthy espresso. All in all, a lovely meal from beginning to end.

I went for a special occasion with my family, and I have mixed feelings. The food was really delicious. Everyone enjoyed the items they chose, but the service was HORRIBLE! Our server was rude, disinterested and left us for long periods of time. Other servers came by to check on us. That was the only time anything got done. We chose not to order dessert because our meal had taken over two hours already. Very sad because the food is good. However for the money I expect good service. The owners have asked us to come back, and we will give it another shot, but not a good first experience.

Love this restaurant! Great wine, food, and service. I have never had a bad meal here. If you want to impress a date, bring him or her here. If you have a special occasion, this place is very romantic. It is overpriced, but I still like to go. The also have happy hour. If the weather is nice, sit outside.

Love this restaurant. Great service and fantastic food. We started with a cheese plate with honeycomb which was delicious. My husband had the black grouper and I had the half rack of lamb. Both were awesome! Best part was the salted caramel torte. We arrived at seven and the dining room was white table cloth and pretty empty so we opted to sit out in the courtyard for a less stuffy vibe. By 8:20 when we were leaving the dining room was absolutely jammin and not stuffy at all lots of people having a great time and the bar was lively as well, we even ran into friends on our way out. Great first experience here and we will most definitely be back!

wonderful staff, excellent food, very relaxing and joyful atmosphere...one of our top spots to eat when we indulge! the steaks are always cooked to perfection, the servers can always recommend an excellent wine pairing, the cheese plates are fantastic, excellent presentation, water glasses are always full, and our wine glasses stay topped off. complimentary valet is always encountered with a warm greeting.... Eleven South is truly a fine restaurant with excellent service nestled in our beaches community - you will not be disappointed!

Service was good, food was not up to standard. I have had wonderful meals here in the past so expected a similar experience. I would never go on a busy day again! Husband and I went for Valentine's day dinner. I'm sure kitchen was getting ready for a busy night and did much prep work ahead of time. Results were an over cook, tough, dry, hard to cut chicken dish. Burnt appetizer. Unpleasantnt rushed duck breast that fat was not rendered. I know they are much better than what we had last night. Wish they were able to deliver on such a special night.

I went here for a 3-course fixed menu group dinner and had a great time! The appetizers were good - my favorite was the eggplant tomato bruschetta. Others really liked the oyster one. Autumn Apple Salad: diced red apple, toasted walnuts, dried cranberries, caramelized red onion, mixed greens, cider vinaigrette -- delicious! My server added half an avocado for me by special request, and it made it really that much better. I usually hate eating salads...but I loved this one. Black Angus Tenderloin: mesquite grilled tenderloin, autumn vegetable pave, grilled asparagus, mustard-demi sauce -- I loved the tenderloin, especially with the leftover avocado from my salad (a really good idea; I had never tried that combo before!), but since I don't eat cheese, I gave my pave away to my friends. In its place, my server gave me some very buttery green beans. Nothing to really write home about. But that tenderloin...mmmm. Unfortunately, one of my friends who got the same thing didn't like his at all, so it's really a different experience for everyone, apparently. Key Lime Pound Cake: blueberry compote, red raspberries, passion fruit puree -- OMG this was awesome! That is all I have to say. Servers were friendly and very accommodating. Ambiance was great too! We were in the outdoor seating.

We had an amazing meal here. Tuna tartare w/ avocado, bacon wrapped shrimp, eggplant dish, Lobster Mac n Cheese and the Chocolate Bread pudding were all perfectly tasty. I will demand going to this restaurant next time I'm in town. The happy hour $3.50 glass of champagne was surprisingly good also.

Waiter was very attentive and helpful. Great wine selection. Four of us all enjoyed our meals. We all agreed food was very good, but not great for the price. We will return. We dined on the patio, which was considerably quieter than inside.

Food: 1) Flounder fillet: Really YUMMY! I liked how flavorful the fish was and it was pan fried to perfection! Loved it! 2) Chocolate Mousse cake: BEST CHOCOLATE MOUSSE CAKE I've EVER HAD!!!! it was seriously a slice of HEAVEN!!! I'm honored to have had a chance to eat something this good before I died! 3) cesar salad: It was alright. The presentation of this salad was more impressive than the taste. Service: No complaints. Ambiance: Really classy feel to the restaurant. Definitely a place you would dress up for or go to on a fancy date! Price: On the pricey side, but well worth it! Overall: I WOULD FLY OVER ALL THE WAY FROM CALI JUST TO HAVE THE CHOCOLATE MOUSSE CAKE AGAIN!!! YUM!!!

A few co-workers recommended this charming place in JAX beach as a date spot. We were seated right on time and began what turned out to be a great night of wining and dining. We started with wine and Bucheron cheese with quince paste and honeycomb as accompaniments. This was delicious and got us ready for the Bacon Wrapped Crab Stuffed Shrimp. Although this app sounds amazing, I felt the BBQ sauce drizzle was very overpowering. We both were intrigued with the specials that night, so I had the Veal Chop cooked medium rare while my date had the seared Snapper. The entrees were delectable and unfortunately did not leave room for dessert. The service was impeccable and our waiter, Johnny, had just as much fun as we did throughout the night. I would recommend this place as a date spot or for a special occasion.

Original Review Date: 12/11/2011 My favorite place to eat in Jax Beach. Great drinks, beautiful ambiance, and my husband and I have never had any menu item that was not great. My favorite spot is the back patio.

If you are looking for great food, great atmosphere and great service, this is the place! I have been several times and never once had an experience that was less than spectacular! My favorite menu item has to be the lobster mac and cheese with the Lamb being a close second. A fantastic Creme Brulee and amazing wine selection top off the perfect meal. The servers always know everything about the menu and can make appropriate suggestions that make sense. Just a great experience, every time!

So part of the reason my experience was so awesome was because of the company I had the pleasure to be with. (Yeah I know I'm ending with a preposition...what can you do?) But that's another story in itself and Yelp is not really the place to share those details. I ordered a Caesar salad, beef tenderloin, and bread pudding. The names were a lot fancier, but I don't have a menu in front of me and that's what I could remember. The salad was perfectly dressed and included this crispy thing that kind of reminded me of anchovies. It was actually pretty tasty and not overpowering and really complimented the salad. I ordered my tenderloin medium rare. I always think I want it medium and then wish it was a bit more rare....maybe it's not clear to me at what level each should be cooked, but medium always seems to be too well done and well done is almost burnt. My beef tenderloin was cooked to perfection. It came with mashed potatoes, spinach, and mushrooms (some were stuffed with onions). It was altogether delicious...and I mean I tasted everything separately and then together. I was not disappointed. Enjoyed every bite. The bread pudding kinda looked like a cinnamon roll with powdered sugar...Didn't taste like that. The plate was drizzled with caramel and included a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was not too sweet and very satisfying with the ice cream and caramel. I give the food an A for presentation, portion, and taste. So food was great, but customer service also matters. Sometimes it matters more.... The staff was very polite. Everyone was professional and seemed happy to be at work. They did not rush me even though I eat very slowly and was the last to finish my entree. My plate was taken once I was done and the dessert followed shortly after. All drinks, including water, was refilled timely. It felt like someone was always making sure we were cared for. If I'm ever back in Jacksonville, I would definitely come back and be eager to try something new and different. Btw, the bathroom was clean and in good order. I just can't do dirty bathrooms, esp at a restaurant.

The unprofessional Manager combined with no quality control of the food being served and haughtiness when caught overbilling produced a very unpleasant experience, despite the friendly service of the wait staff during the meal.

Why did it take us so long to find this great place? A group of 8 had an excellent dinner there last night...everyone left there with great praise! Excellent menu, perfect food, great service, prices in line with fine dining. Every dish was cooked to perfection. Many restaurants overcook their salmon, but these guys ask you how well you want it done, just like ordering a steak. My son said it came out perfect. From drinks to salads to fish/steak/chicken to desserts we were all looking forward to the next course. Great place for a special occasion or become a regular if you can handle it. Hopefully you find your way to Eleven South sooner rather than later.

Last time I went, I was told by the valet that they were closed. It was a Saturday at 10pm and there were still people dining in the restaurant. When we called and spoke to the manager on the way to Stonewood Grill (open and full of people), we were told that he saw us walk up but they were slow so they closed the bar early. How do you let the valet turn away your regulars? We wont be going back. Too many other good establishments at the beach.

Five stars! I can't say enough good things about this place. We came here for my birthday. We had to make reservations which was fine with me. It forced me to leave work at an appropriate time. I am not a huge fan of valet, but it was pouring rain. I loved valet that night. He greeted us with an umbrella. I never had a drop of rain touch me! We decided to sit in their outside covered area. Great ambience. The decor, the lighting, everything was very nice. I ordered a glass of wine, a Malbec. It had a great taste. We both ordered the goat cheese salad to start. I am a big fan of goat cheese. The combination of goat cheese, light dressing, strawberries, raisins, and nuts was wonderful. I had the Ahi tuna oscar for an entree. The ahi tuna was seared, medium rare over fried rice with bokchoy. So delicious. My boyfriend had the Mongolian braised beef. I tried a bite. Soooo good. He raved about it as well. We were both stuffed by the end of the meal and completely pleased. The service was wonderful. Everyone was friendly and attentive. Our waiter made suggestions, which is always nice. When we left, the valet attendant again greeted me with the umbrella. We will certainly be back!

Went to Eleven South last night and the place is great. They have valet parking for their customers. They sat us down right away. The service was perfect. Jeremy, our waiter was good and very professional. The food was also excellent and beautifully presented. I would totally recommend this place for a special meal.
My stars are based on food. I've heard for a long time that the ribeye here was the best in town. OVERRATED! It was underwhelming at best and I want my money back. Just kidding. I have to say, we were not impressed with the dinner. The location is great, the outside seating was nice, but the food was mediocre.

If you have not been here, you are seriously missing out. From the amazing martinis to the savory steak frites, you will not be disappointed. The escargot is on point. The best thing about this place though, seriously, is the lobster mac n cheese. Its the best! Its a great place for couples or singles. Intimate dining atmosphere. If you sit at the bar, its a little more casual.

Eleven South is the nicest restaurant you are going to find in Jax Beach. The menu is delicious and appropriately priced for fine dining. The scallops entree is terrific. Excellent wine selection. If you are into wines, go on Sunday evening when many bottles are half-priced, including our favorite bottle, Stag's Leap Artemis. Also, if celebrating an anniversary, be sure to let them know and they'll give you champagne.

I love 11 South! I have been going for years now and can't get enough of the Chilean Seabass. The bread and cheese platter is also fantastic! I would definitely recommend this to any beach locals looking for fine dining at a reasonable price.
one of my favorites, one of the few sophisticated restaurants here at the beaches good food, good dining room, good food and staff is the reason why I like this place

Some folks say it's hard to find. It's called Eleven South. It's on South Eleventh St. Not so tough. IMO, this place serves some of the best food at the beach, in an atmosphere that's upscale enough for a special occasion but isn't at odds with the mellow, frayed-around-the-edges vibe of Jax Beach. The chefs are excellent - we like to go with their specials, since they know how to build a great dish around whatever fresh finds they get. I've run into their chef at the Saturday Farmer's Market in Neptune Beach, and you can see his gears turning while he's scanning the produce. Seems from other reviews that service can be inconsistent, but we've never had a problem - always warm but professional.

Just finished dinner there and I'll say I've never felt more nickel and dimed in my adult life. From time-to-time there are disagreements between patron and staff in the restaurant business. That's just a fact. But what's the old motto? The customer is always right? Not here. The management staff is stubborn, arrogant, misinformed, inconsistent, and lacks a general understanding of basic business. Thus, the restaurant had 5 tables during my entire evening. This wasn't the chef's fault. He did his part. The meal was solid. The service? Jack was an absentee waiter. Asked us what type of water we'd like, then never brought it. Never brought bread. Left me to refill my own wine. Made us chase him down for coffee. It went on and on. The part that really got me though? We ordered a wine they didn't have. And then another. They didn't have that. And then another. Finally the manager came over to push another wine they had a special half-off price on. When the bill came, guess what wasn't half off? Guess who argued about the circumstances? Yup...the manager. Just a bush league move. He wouldn't listen to reason or try to understand that that particular wine would never have been purchased without the special. I fully understand a restaurant is in the business of making profits. I also understand that the standard markup on a bottle of wine is 400%. Pick your battles, you idiots.

I brought my wife here for our anniversary. Although there were other restaurants that had better yelp ratings, after reviewing their website and menu, I decided to bring her here. When I called in a reservation, I asked if they had any special arrangements for anniversaries, like a flower or candlelight for the table . . . they told me that we would receive complimentary champagne. I was sold. This was the place to be. We were running a little behind in our schedule so I called in the early afternoon to push our reservation back to 7:30 pm. No problem. We pulled into the parking lot around 7:25 and were greeted by friendly valet staff. He politely opened the door for my wife and wished us an enjoyable meal. We walked in, and it was pretty busy. The bar was to our right, and it was a little loud, but not too bad. We walked up to the hostess and she promptly seated us. The space for seating was too cramped for comfort. The tables and chairs were really close to one another and the seat cushions for the chair just sank in. Now, I've been to many nice restaurants before, and most notice when somebody comes in with black/dark slacks - and they exchange the white napkins for black ones so there won't be any white lint/residue on the slacks. Not done here. But that's ok. Not everybody does this. Our waiter comes and introduces himself as "Ali." He seems friendly enough at first, asking us if we'd like to have a drink. We ask to start with two waters and he promptly gets them for us. I also asked him if there were any specials for the night and he said that there were none, but there was the Father's day Prix Fixe. I was certain that I saw on their website that select bottles of wine were half off on Sundays, but I figured maybe that wasn't the case tonight because of Father's Day. We later decided to not order any alcohol (remember - I was told we would have complimentary champagne) and proceeded to ordered our dinner. My wife ordered the prix fixe (tomato bisque, scallops, and molten chocolate cake), and I ordered the lobster mac-n-cheese, and snapper. Ali then asked me if I wanted to order "an appetizer or salad" and I said, "I'd like the lobster mac-n-cheese." He then seemed to snap back a little with "I meant did you want to order a salad." I said no thanks and he left. After taking our order, we didn't see much of him for the rest of the night. I went back up to the hostess and asked if there were any "special arrangements for our anniversary", as I had been told there would be, but I also told her we had pushed our reservation back an hour. She told me she would look into the computer and see if she found anything. Somebody else was setting up the table next to ours, and noticed we didn't have any bread, so offered to get us some. We also noticed that the butter knife was missing from my place setting, and when he returned with bread, we asked if we could have a butter knife for me, for which he apologized and grabbed one from the table next to ours that he had just set. The bread was pretty good. crisp on the outside, and warm and soft on the inside. The butter with chives was quite tasty too. 3.5/5 Somebody else came by and brought out our dinner, and our waiter was still running around (he seemed to be busy with other customers). however, I did overhear him tell a family of 4 that certain bottles of wine were half off. My wife's tomato bisque came and it too was pretty good. a nice smokey flavor with the cheese, and the tomato flavor was not overwhelming - 3.5/5 Our entrees came out after my wife had finished her soup. Scallops, arugula, polenta - The scallops were perfectly cooked, and they had a natural sweetness to them. The polenta was also quite excellent. The arugula had it's natural bitterness, and although it was quite opposite of the scallops, it really wasn't a bad pairing. 4/5 Snapper - bland and dry. the carrots were actually pretty good, but right next to them were the same arugula that were on my wife's plate. Interesting. The mashed potatoes were a complete disappointment. They actually tasted powdery. My wife agreed with me. Why is it that out of the entire dish, the only thing that was actually decent were the carrots? 1/5 The family of 4 next to us, had commented to another server that they hadn't gotten any bread yet and he promised to get them some. Ali came by a couple minutes later to bring them their food, and they commented that they would like some bread. At this point, the other server brought the basket of bread and placed it on their table. Ali, rather than saying "Here is your bread, Sir," simply pointed at the basket of bread now sitting on the table, and walked away. I'm sorry, but this is completely unacceptable. At this point, I couldn't wait to leave. Ali eventually came by to bring dessert - and say "Happy Anniversary." He had a candle on the plate, but there was no champagne. Overall, his service was among the poorest I've ever seen.

Eleven South is easy to miss because it blends in with the residential neighborhood where it's located. However, the building is not the main attraction...the primary draw here is the food. Try the (somewhat) famous lobster mac and cheese ($13) for an appetizer or the Bibb salad with mango, avocado, and toasted macadamia nuts ($8). The pecan crusted rack of lamb ($22 half race, $33 full), Chilean sea bass ($29), and seared diver scallops ($27) are excellent entrees. For dessert, the blueberry and white chocolate bread pudding ($7.5) is a good one to try. This restaurant received the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence in 2008 so the wine selection is extensive. Franciscan "Magnificat" ($16) from Napa is a safe bet. The Cambria pinot noir ($12) should also be a solid choice. With dessert, diners may also enjoy an ice wine like Inniskillin ($14) which the waters refer to as "liquid gold." The interior is laid back but classy. A button-up shirt for men and a dress for women are recommended but men would not feel uncomfortable in a coat. There is both indoor and outdoor seating but no view of the ocean. Despite the lack of view, Eleven South is a great fine dining restaurant in Jacksonville Beach that won't break the bank or leave you hungry.

Not impressed and not worth the premium. I'm afraid they've fallen into 'Michelin Guide' syndrome as in they were once great and earned a following but no longer feel they need to work for it. Service was fine but food mediocre.

Called without reso on Friday at 7: pm. Hostess said come on in we can get you nice spot on the terrace. Arrived and waited 5 minutes enough time to order a great stoly martini. We were escorted to nice and quiet table. Waiter as extremely please t as could be. Very knowledgable about the days specials and overall menu choices. Enjoyed nice bottle of Pinot noir. Fish entree was delicious as was the airline chicken . Moist flavorful and beautifully presented. Very nice Friday night out. Would highly recommend for birthday with friends. A bit noisy but everyone is really enjoying the dining experience. This spot six keeper in JAX Beach........Enjoy......

I came here for a dinner reception held for a conference I was a part of. So the format of the dinner was different than your typical customer. The hourdouves they served was bomb tastic. There was this fried oyster on some glorious sauce in this artsy spoon that won me over right there. There were some other appetizers going around like some brushetta w/ meat, but I would say that oyster won gold. We also had a fixed menu, from choices ranging from a beef filet to some fish dish paired with an appetizer and dessert. I opted for the fish dish with rock shrimp chowder and vanilla ice cream. The rock shrimp chowder was the BEST ROCK SHRIMP CHOWDER I've ever had. Ok I admit it was the first time I've ever eaten rock shrimp chowder, but it was so good I looked up and gave someone my O face. The fish dish, which I cant remember what it was, was pretty good, and the vanilla ice cream was vanilla, in a good way. The venue inside was dimly lit and seemed like a nice option to bring that special someone to. There were awards listed on the bathroom wall with some apparent value which I'm sure subconsciously added brownie points in my mind. And as we were leaving, there were some bourgie cars in the lot, which made me think maybe those awards were legit afterall. This restaurant is also a block away from the beach. Quite literally a strone-throws away, so plan your pimping accordingly.

Extensive wine list. The cheeses are off the hook and the Parmesan Cheese Grits are awesome with a juicy steak.

Expensive. Around the corner from the pad so, certainly convenient. Great looking restaurant. Haven't made my way through the menu but Mr. O and I stopped in for cocktails and a couple apps. Food was surprisingly bland for how good it smelled and looked, but again, these were just apps.. ginger chicken skewers and lobster mac and cheese. Service at the bar could have been more attentive but I suspect that has something to do with rolling up in flip flops instead of a BMW. Ambience... felt like I had crossed over the border to Ponte Vedra - rich and sleepy.

My husband and I live right down the street from here and NYE was the first time we went. We've been wanting to try it, just never made it there til then. I was looking forward to a great meal but was underwhelmed after our visit. The restaurant is smaller than I thought but it's cozy. I made a late reservation with the idea that we'd have dinner there and then drinks in the bar. Needless to say, we were the only ones with that idea b/c as it got later in the evening, the bar area pretty much cleared out. Anyways, about the food. My husband got the carpaccio and I a Caesar salad. Nothing to rave about. It was your standard fare and good. The complimentary bread is tasty. Tastes fresh and perhaps cooked in house? For our entrees, my husband got a ribeye and I the scallops and risotto. The ribeye looked nice but when we ate it, it wasn't really all that tender like a ribeye should be. We question whether it's prime - hoping that it is given the price (around $30?). I've definitely had better, more flavorful prime elsewhere. My scallops were cooked nicely and were a significant size. However, the risotto was bad. It was watery and undercooked/crunchy. By that time, b/c it was so late already, I didn't feel like sending back the food. I think we were the last table to get food from the kitchen. I was disappointed. We didn't bother with dessert b/c we were full and wanted to save room for drinks although they did look tasty. Other tables around us got dessert and the portion is huge! We went back the other day for lunch (we'd heard the lunch is better) and it was fine. Nothing to write home about. My husband got the mahi sandwich which he liked and I got the seared tuna salad. I'm not writing off this place - I would definitely go back for lunch but the next time we want to have a nice steak locally, we'll probably go to The Capital Grille or Ruth's Chris.

We went to Eleven South last night for a light supper, so we didn't sample much of the menu, but want we tried was VERY memorable--and gorgeous. The kitchen clearly takes pride in making their dishes looks as good as they taste--and they taste wonderful. We had the soup of the day, an asparagus bisque, a tropical caprise salad (with lettuce, mozzarella, mango, and heirloom tomatoes), and a marvelous special with striped bass, perfectly breaded and baked. The covered patio proved to a be a fun place to eat during a thunderstorm. You could listen to the rain on the tin roof and see the flashes of thunder (in a romantic--and dry--setting.) The service was very good without being too present. And the prices were high but reasonable considering the quality of the food.

tried the flounder and wish i had gotten that instead ordered a steak, but it was a little too warm for something that heavy. The meat was tender for medium rare-well done, and tasted delicious. I'm a little sensitive to salt, so next time i would consider asking them to hold the seasoning. tried someone else's choc mousse and that was delish!! Although I was incredibly full, I was able to finish my entire order of bread pudding! I've had many variations of this before, but liked how some pieces of bread were slightly crispy from the caramelized syrup appetizers were also a big plus! would definitely recommend the fig jam tart

This place had so much hype so I was excited about eating there for the first time. I had guests in town so wanted to pick a special place and although one of my guests was a big meat eater and wanted a steak, I eat a totally plant based diet. When i read the menu online I hesitated since among the dozens of entrees there was only one vegetarian entree and it was pasta (ho hum). However their web page touted the fact that they were vegan/vegetarian friendly and would "cook to order". I should have known better, anyplace that has not taken the time to develop and present vegetarian food in the first place can't really be serious about accommodating the veggie crowd. However just in case, when i called to make a reservation I asked about the "vegan" offerings and was told they would take care of me. So reservation made. Later on when we were ready earlier I called to move our reservation up a half hour and off we went. It was a weekend night so it was crowded. We entered and then after I gave my name was informed we were there earlier than our reservation. So I had to explain (apologize almost) that I had called and told it was fine. Hmmm. We were led to our table and after awhile we ordered our drinks and 2 of us ordered the special soup of the day, tomato bisque. The service was fine- our waiter was very nice though very busy. We were served our soup and I thought it tasted more mushroom than tomato and when I discovered after several bites a piece of shrimp realized we had been served the Shrimp bisque instead. I gave the rest of my soup to my daughter. It was very good, just not what I ordered. It is very loud in the restaurant and people talk loudly to hear each other over the din I guess but it was nice inside and I was excited about the meal. So after looking at all the veggie sides the waiter suggested the chef would fix me something special with ingredients at hand. I happily accepted his suggestion thinking it would be a real treat. So out comes the huge steak, my daughters skimpy dinner (her choice) and then what looked like a starter, a not too large portabella mushroom with some potatoes, sauce and green bits on top. I was shocked that anyone could present this as an entree. Not wanting to upset my guests I ate it cheerily, ordered dessert after and left hungry and disappointed. Fortunately I wasn't paying the bill and its not cheap here. Next time Buddha's Thai Bistro. Eleven South, you need to grow up- the days of Steak and potatoes are on the wane and vegetarians like to eat too.

I love this place. If you are looking for a "really" nice spot at the beach- id recommend checking this one out. They have amazing food, wine, service .. and the atmosphere and customer service puts it at the top of my list. Sit at the bar and you will get your food and drinks quicker. Also - don't go in thinking this is a "cheap" place - its not, but you will get what you pay for!

Eleven south is one our favorite restaurants in Jax Beach. We've been there over twenty times, and it's consistently good every single time. The food is deelish, friendly service, delicious drinks, and lovely atmosphere. This is our go-to place if we know we want a great meal & experience. We love to sit at the bar and people watch. Also LOVE the espressotinis here! Try the calamari -- it is the best I've had in the U.S. Their cheese selection is amazing too. Bottom line: you will not be disappointed in any way here. Highly recommend.

I've been to Eleven South a handful of times. I have had dinner twice and late night dessert once. Every visit has been very enjoyable. Great and inventive menu choices. They embrace seasonal produce and do change out items on their menus based on seasonality. I love their charming and classy atmosphere. The patio area is lovely in the early evening. Service is polished but not uncomfortably so. This is one of the better date restaurants at the beach!

3.5 stars. We went there Friday night of the Players tournament. I was kind of surprised we could get a reservation. I had never been here before; it fact, I've probably driven by it and never realized it was there. I enjoyed the dinner. My fish was good; it was fresh, but sort of weak on taste.... just a little bit more flavor would have made it. Everybody at the table loved their meals. We sat towards the back of the restaurant and were kind of tucked away. And the outdoor tables looked comfortable, too. This might be on the pricey side, but it just might be worth it.

let's see in town for a week - ate there 3 times, Friday lunch, Saturday night dinner and a group dinner for 36 on Monday night and I wish I could have gone again. Will add more later - but this is new favorite spot to eat. Thanks John, Craig, brilliant and beautiful Missy, Chad, Jack (Heimlich life saver), Chris, Melissa and Courtney. Well done.

I agree the truffle mac and cheese had a great flavor. Also had a King crab appetizer which was very good. Bibb salad wasn't very impressive, way to much dressing. Smoked tomato bisque was good. Black Grouper Filet ... pan seared, jumbo lump crab cake, braised leeks, yellow tomato-Riesling broth, basil puree came out cold. However when the new hot one came out, with a complimentary glass of champagne it was delicious. Believe it or not we had room for dessert. The blueberry white chocolate bread pudding was quite yummy.

I love Eleven South. The food is wonderful, staff attentive, drinks delicious, wine list extensive, atmosphere enjoyable. I love sitting outside on the patio if it's warm enough. The seafood martini is a must try. Hopefully they'll never take it off the menu again!

Hello beautiful! A sparkling rose' by glass and I knew I would love love love it! The seafood martini, corn chowder, and truffled mac n' cheese are great appetizers. I had the scallops for my entree, served with truffled asparagus puree and it was perfect!!!!! The portions where huge, wine list extensive, we skipped dessert. Our server was very knowledgeable. The only negative experience we had was having to overhear a female server cuss out and boss around her co-workers. I guess we had the perfect table to witness the drama behind the scenes...but hey...we knew all about it! Oh, and the pillows look nice, but are totally in the way! Well also...we had to ask them to decant a bottle of Cos' D Estournel????? Still loved it and would be a regular if I still lived in Jax! Definitely make a reservation a few days in advance!

Went only once to Eleven South for a business dinner few weeks ago. The service was very good, the food a bit bland. What I don't get is how Yelpers are able to find this place. After getting lost I had to call and was told that the restaurant is NOT in Atlantic Beach, it is in Jacksonville Beach!

(5)Matthew C.

(3)Lynn K.
Excellent meal! Great food and Great service too. Loved the patio seating and ambience.
(5)Thomas W.

Now I have been to Eleven South many many times but only for lunch and never with the wife. I was feeling froggy so let's go. I will say that the food has gottin better since Lee Weeks started running the kitchen. The place is beautiful inside, a real white table cloth place. They even have a complimentary valet out front. Our server Regina sure knew her stuff and let us enjoy our meal but we never needed for anything. She was there when we needed and not when we didn't. It also helped that she knew me from a couple of food trucks that she used to work at. Now chef did come out and visit with us tonight and tell us about the meal that we ordered. We go back a ways. We decided to order the entire special menu. From the classic Oyster Rockefeller. Which had all the components but they made for quite a yummy bite. Now entrée were outstanding on both sides of the table. My wagu strip steak was cooked to perfect mid rare. The seasonings were also fabulous and this might have been one of the few steaks that I didn't add to the seasoning combo. Shout out to the chef. Maybe the star of the show was the potato gnocchi. They were just so light and fluffy but the gravy was spot on The other side of the table my wife was amazed with her hog snapper over a house made ribbon pasta. I'm not real sure what cut you would call it but we called it delicious. The pesto sauce to go along with it was also perfectly prepared. We had to follow this meal up with some dessert. After this meal the dessert had to be as fabulous. We ordered the pots de crème and the bread pudding with a true vanilla ice cream. It was pure heaven and we thought we would take most of it home. NOT it was too good we finished right there. My pots de crème was also good and didn't make the ride home. Oh well Lee you did a fabulous job and you are teetering on serving us the best meal that we have eaten in Jacksonville.
(5)Mike A.
While the appetizers were fairly decent, the snapper I had for dinner was hands down the worst I have ever had in a restaurant. Well over cooked and not a big portion... For 30 dollars.
(3)Anna J.
(5)Ryan P.
(4)Laini T.
(5)David W.

VERY DISAPPOINTING!! It was my birthday on December 19 so I wanted a great dinner with family. I decided on 11 S. I hadn't been there in a while and was looking forward to it. My entrée was quite cold and not edible. By the time they reheated it, the other three people at the table had finished their meal. Not a great way to spend my birthday. At the end of the meal, I decided to order a cup of coffee with Frangelico on the side. Although the Frangelico was $9, I couldn't mix it with the coffee because the coffee was also cold. So over $200 spent and it was not the meal I expected. The other three said they enjoyed their food but I expected so much more from this restaurant. I went on their website and wrote to the manager about my disappointment and they never bothered to respond so they obviously don't care about their customers. Boo!
(1)Sean B.

We celebrated my sons birthday tonight. The food was so fresh and perfectly prepared. Just wish it was closer

Had dinner with my girlfriend and my daughter. Amazing doesn't describe our experience. We found to service to be simply delightful! The waiter was knowledgable and prompt. The chef Lee even came out to greet us. What an upscale place, I will most definitely return!
(5)Christopher L.
This establishment is absolutely my favorite restaurant in Jacksonville. The food and the service have never disappointed me. Everything on the menu is amazing, but definitely try the scallops.
(5)Rhoda A.
One of the best restaurants in Jacksonville. I've had the Caesar salad, lobster mac+cheese, Catch of the day with cremini mushrooms and seasonal vegetables. I especially enjoyed their wine tastings on the patio paired with Horderves. Looking forward to returning soon.
(5)Mitchell L.
One of the best meals, ever. Great wine selection, server was very knowledgable. Interesting menu items and specials.
(5)Rick D.

(5)Frank P.
Great little place at the beach tucked away on 11th. Upscale yet relaxed, great food prepared in unique ways. I had the Wagyu steak special while others at the table had the lobster paella & scallops. We loved it all. Desserts and drinks were phenomenal - creme brûlée doesn't disappoint! My new favorite place. As a local this is the place I will recommend.
(5)Aubree T.
A wonderful experience with my boyfriend and his family over the Thanksgiving weekend. The food here is nothing short of excellent, as is the service. I ordered the wreck fish accompanied by butternut squash ravioli and broccoli. Just perfect!
(5)Chris P.
The service is impeccable. The food is award wining. They have everything from steak to artfully prepared fish. The cocktails are amazing. Great first date or grownup night out. The atmosphere is so beachy relaxed.
(5)Carol S.
(4)Christine L.
(5)Dani V.
OH. MY.
(5)Michael Hosto H.
Great dining experience. The people who run this place know what they're doing. I always appreciate a well-managed restaurant. Atmosphere food staff all first rate. Definitely one of the best on the beaches.
(5)C J.
(4)Kathy C.
(3)Aaron L.

(1)Kathleen K.
(2)Alicia P.
It's very cozy, dim lights, we were sat in a back corner with a booth. It does seem very small. Parking isn't that great. A little pricey, but delicious.
(4)Janet B.
(5)Dennis S.

Had dinner the other night. Great food and ambiance
(5)C M.
(5)Robin M.
(4)Dr. J.
Some of the most lovingly prepared food I've ever eaten! Absolutely delicious!
(5)Jskilicious S.
(3)Cynthia V.
Love this restaurant! Great wine, food, and service. I have never had a bad meal here. If you want to impress a date, bring him or her here. If you have a special occasion, this place is very romantic. It is overpriced, but I still like to go. The also have happy hour. If the weather is nice, sit outside.
(4)Jonathan W.
We were in Jacksonville Beach for the weekend and ate here on the recommendation of a relative. All we can say is it was fantastic. Rack of lamb with a lobster tail and fillet with a lobster tail. All were cooked to perfection.
(5)Tira K.
(5)A K.
wonderful staff, excellent food, very relaxing and joyful atmosphere...one of our top spots to eat when we indulge! the steaks are always cooked to perfection, the servers can always recommend an excellent wine pairing, the cheese plates are fantastic, excellent presentation, water glasses are always full, and our wine glasses stay topped off. complimentary valet is always encountered with a warm greeting....

This place has awesome wine and food!!! Service was awesome---staff was really friendly and made the experience great.

My wife and I went to 11South for our anniversary. Excellent service, delicious food. Very well done!

(5)Jason R.
This is great place. The food menu is unique, especially for Jax Beach, and the wine list is exciting. The server was a bit arrogant and turned off when we asked about splitting an entrée and not ordering a bottle of wine. Overall, the scene was upbeat on the patio and the overall experience was great.
(4)Jeremy S.
My stars are based on food. I've heard for a long time that the ribeye here was the best in town. OVERRATED! It was underwhelming at best and I want my money back. Just kidding. I have to say, we were not impressed with the dinner. The location is great, the outside seating was nice, but the food was mediocre.
(3)Ray S.
I went here a few years ago. Food was good up until the part I got food poisoning 2 hours later.
(2)Ariel T.
(5)Brett S.
(5)Shannon M.
I love 11 South! I have been going for years now and can't get enough of the Chilean Seabass. The bread and cheese platter is also fantastic! I would definitely recommend this to any beach locals looking for fine dining at a reasonable price.

TRULY AMAZING- BEST CHEF- BEST RESTAURANT in JAX Eleven south is the best restaurant in Jacksonville and definitely one of the best restaurants I have ever been to (and I lived in Paris for 21 years). Every single dish is incredibly delicious and beautifully presented. Flavors are beautifully paired together and complement each other perfectly. Both the meat and the sea food are perfectly cooked (the diver scallops are just perfect). The menu is creative, delicious and perfectly executed by its own creator, the chef, Donald Edwards (which makes it hard to choose!). As explained by our waiter, the chef, Donald Edwards is the reason why Eleven South is such a gem. It is the perfect restaurant to impress your date or your clients. It is surprisingly affordable considering the quality of the dishes and the overall experience. The décor is nice and elegant. The patio is romantic and confortable. The service is impeccable and worthy of the quality of this amazing restaurant. My only regret is that I don't live in Jacksonville but I hope the chef will open its own restaurant in DC soon. In the meantime, Eleven South is my first and favorite stop in Jacksonville.
(5)Marc K.
one of my favorites, one of the few sophisticated restaurants here at the beaches good food, good dining room, good food and staff is the reason why I like this place
(4)dan c.

(5)Jon F.

(4)Gary S.
Extensive wine list. The cheeses are off the hook and the Parmesan Cheese Grits are awesome with a juicy steak.
(5)Nate G.

(5)Ted L.
Great service. Even offered my wife a black napkin with her black pants. Waitress had good knowledge of menu, specials, and wine list. Very attentive. Definitely would go back.
(5)C L.
tried the flounder and wish i had gotten that instead ordered a steak, but it was a little too warm for something that heavy.

(5)Cassie V.

(4)Andy L.
(3)Glenn B.
let's see in town for a week - ate there 3 times, Friday lunch, Saturday night dinner and a group dinner for 36 on Monday night and I wish I could have gone again.

Hopefully they'll never take it off the menu again!

the service was good, had to ask to have water glasses refilled a few times; food presented nicely, atmosphere nice; I don't know if I would ever make a special trip back there
